Typing beautiful maths equation in LibreOffice is a big huddle. TexMaths solves this to a certain extend. Here we are discussing the different aspects of this LaTeX extension in LibreOffice.

About:

TexMaths is a brilliant extension to integrate LaTeX in LibreOffice to produce beautiful scientific & mathematical expressions in LibreOffice document. If you are accustomed to LaTeX, but want to use LibreOffice, then TexMaths is for you. TexMaths can be used in Writer, Impress, and Draw documents. So the output document will be in Open Document Format (.odt, .odp, .odg). TexMaths is a free software by Roland Baudin based on OOoLaTeX by Geoffroy Piroux.

Installation:

1. Download the latest TexMaths extension from 

https://extensions.libreoffice.org/extensions/texmaths1.

2. Visit menu Tools > Extension Manager > click "Add" button > select .oxt file you have downloaded > click "Open" > the extension installed.

 

 

3. Close LibreOffice and start it again.

4. Now you see a new TexMaths toolbar on your window. Start typing LaTeX syntax such as \int_{a}^{b} f (x) d x  > highlight the syntax > press the blue pi button on TexMaths toolbar.
